As I've said before, one of my favorite aspects of this journey so far is hearing from old friends and reconnecting! I hadn't been expecting to go back to photography quite so soon after I had my little guy (his posts will come soon, I promise!), but I couldn't say no when another HS/theater buddy, the amazing Shawn, reached out for newborn shots for her new niece as a gift to her sister! Seriously - photos are the most thoughtful gift ever for new parents, as they last a lifetime and only become more precious with age! Our babies are only little for so long. These photos will be treasured way longer than those cute outfits you wanted to buy that they will outgrow in a few weeks! (Other great new mom gift ideas: CHOCOLATE, food of all kinds, DIAPERS (just check what kind they are using first!), batteries, babysitting the older sibling, cleaning services...the list goes on!! Oh and if you're me...that list definitely includes french fries and a Wendy's Frosty...or three! ;))
I was super honored that Shawn would ask me to do this for her sister, and it was a great chance to get out of the house for a little bit and put on something not covered in spit up! :) I'm learning quickly it is never easy to leave my little guy, but stepping out for a bit does help you remember that you do have other skills besides changing diapers and doing laundry! :)
Enter the breathtaking Brielle Ivy - aka Brie (How awesome is that name by the way!??!). It was such a smooth session, and Brie did an awesome job sleeping for us! She is such a beauty. I know I've said this before, but often times the best part of this job is getting to see the love that new parents have for their tiny little miracles. This time though, it was even sweeter, as I got to see first hand the pure love and adoration Shawn has for the newest, tiniest love of her life! I never, ever get tired of seeing the joy a new baby brings! The icing on the cake was getting to go home to my little miracle after I was done! :)
A big thank you to Shawn and Brie's wonderful parents for allowing me to capture this special time for them! It was such a pleasure!
Here she is... :)
I'll never get tired of newborn eyelashes. Sorry. ;)
All the sweet baby details you can handle...
The proud mommy and adoring aunt! :) This baby modeling is hard... The gold tutu was too adorable for words. It was hilarious to work with though, because we got glitter all over Brie! haha Check it out on her tootsies! :) Twinkle toes!! :)
Congrats again on little Miss Brie Ivy!!! :) She is too cute for words!
